I confronted APC over Osinbajo – Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi has revealed that he once confronted the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for not fielding the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo for the presidency.

The former Anambra governor who spoke on Tuesday during the 63rd birthday get-together of journalist and publisher, Dele Momodu, also said the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, would have been a great candidate if he had contested 20 years ago.

The Labour Party candidate insisted that he battled for the nation’s top job because he wants the country working.

He said: “I’m interested to see Nigeria work, I don’t hide it; any day, anytime.

“I even confronted APC, asking why didn’t you bring Osinbajo. Let’s have a place to work for everybody so that we have people who want to work for the country and are healthy and good.”

Osinbajo and other candidates who contested for the party’s presidential ticket in June 2022, were defeated by Tinubu.
