The Nigerian U-20 football team, Flying Eagles, arrived in Mendoza on Wednesday and have since held their first training session in preparation for their opening game in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup against Dominican Republic.

The team had a 10-day camping programme in Buenos Aires before their arrival in the city.

The two-hour session took place at the Mendoza Technical Centre and was supervised by coach Ladan Bosso.

The team, who have been finalists twice before, will take on their first opponents on Sunday at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas in Mendoza.

The Eagles will then face Italy in their second game in Mendoza before heading to La Plata for their final group game against Brazil.

The team is expected to put up a strong performance as they seek to win the U-20 World Cup title for the first time in their history.
