SOKADUSA Appeals to Governor Uba Sani for Reinstatement of Deposed Monarchs

Following the recent change of guard in Kaduna, Southern Kaduna in Diaspora (SOKADUSA) has called on the new Governor, Uba Sani, to lead with impartiality and fairness. SOKADUSA also requested that the Governor re-instate two Monarchs and three District Heads who were removed from their positions during the last days of the previous administration led by El-Rufai.

The group’s President, Kamuru Freeman, alleged that under El-Rufai’s governance, peaceful coexistence, fairness and justice were disregarded, and the people of Southern Kaduna suffered. SOKADUSA claims that Southern Kaduna was deliberately targeted to be cleansed of its religion, culture, and leaders.

The statement revealed that in the final two weeks of El-Rufai’s administration, His Royal Highness, the EtumNumana (General Aliyu IliyahYammah (retd), was demoted and reduced to the Chief of Arak, and then deposed. The paramount ruler of the Piriga Chiefdom, His Highness, Jonathan ParaguaZamuna, was also deposed. In addition to the monarchs, three District Heads of Aban, AbujanMada, and Anjil in Arak Chiefdom were sacked.

According to the statement, the people of Southern Kaduna will continue to thrive, even in the face of these adversities. The group, however, hopes that a legitimate leadership will emerge, armed with righteousness, to steer the state towards progress and development.
