Minna-Bida Road rehabilitation: Gov Bago urges Niger motorists to cooperate

Governor Muhammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has pleaded for understanding and cooperation by motorists to enable the government to rehabilitate a failed section of the Minna-Bida road.

Work on part of the road is fixed for Tuesday,18 July 2023 and is expected to last six hours.

The Governor made the call in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, in Minna.

He explained that rehabilitation work has become necessary as a proactive step towards avoiding the yearly collapse of multiple cell culverts on the road, especially during the rainy season.

According to him, “We are calling on road users to show understanding and cooperates with the state government as it embarks on the rehabilitation of a failed section of the Minna-Bida road.”

The Governor urged commuters to use alternative routes, Bida-Zungeru-Minna road and Bida-Lapai-Minna road, while the rehabilitation work lasts.

“The six hours rehabilitation work will commence from 12pm to 6pm on the 18th of July, 2023”.

Bago assured the citizens of the state of his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development.
