Transfer: What Ten Hag told Maguire about his future at Man United revealed

England international Harry Maguire has insisted on staying at Manchester United and is ‘relaxed’ about his future.

The defender reportedly told the manager, Erik ten Hag, that he wants to stay at the club, amid reports he could leave this summer.

Maguire has been stripped of the captaincy at the club, with the manager set to pick his skipper.

There is the question of whether the England international is wanted by Ten Hag or not.

But talkSPORT’s transfer expert, Sam Matterface has revealed insider information about the player’s situation.

“I understand that he [Maguire] remains relaxed about the situation,” he said.

“I think he’s told everybody that he’s going to knuckle down and work for the team. I understand that Erik ten Hag has told him privately that he doesn’t want him to leave, he just wants to pick his own captain.

“I think he’s pretty relaxed about the fact that if he’s told by Manchester United he wants to leave, there will be people who come in for him.”
