Four Nigerian Students Win Cambridge Learner Awards

Four Nigerian students from Regent secondary school have been recognised for Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards.

The exceptional students achieved outstanding results in the Cambridge June 2022 Examination Series and were awarded at this year’s Cambridge Learner Awards, organised annually by the British Council and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).

These were made known in a statement signed by the Registrar Oghenekevwe Omonigho and made available to Voice of Nigeria in Abuja.

Award Categories
At the event which took place in Lagos State, Mfonmma-Abasi Okon Bassey received the Top In Nigeria award in the IGCSE category for Art & Design, while Daniel Chiemelie Anohu was awarded Top In Nigeria in the Environmental Management IGCSE category. Khalidah Fatume Amal Doyinsola Usman received the Top In Nigeria award in the History IGCSE category, and Ain Sufiya Binti Mohd Iqbal received the High Achievement award in the Cambridge International AS Level category.

Omonigho stated that the school acknowledged the initiatives of the British Council for creating a platform for recognising achievements and encouragement of the upcoming learners to excel in their academic endeavours.

According to the Registrar, “The Regent Secondary School, Abuja, Nigeria is proud to announce that four of its 2022 Graduates have been recognised during the 2023 Recognition and Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards Ceremony.”

He said; “These exceptional students achieved outstanding results in the Cambridge June 2022 Examination Series and were awarded at this year’s Cambridge Learner Awards, organised annually by the British Council and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE)”

The school had turned-out Top In Nigeria Awardees in many International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced Level subjects .

Some of the other awards received by the Regent Secondary School in the course of the years were Overall Best Across Eight Subjects in Nigeria, Overall Best Across 4 AS Subjects, Overall Best Across 3 A Level Subjects and Best in the World Awards.
