El-Kanemi Warriors to Face Dadje FC in CAF Confederation Cup

El-Kanemi Warriors to Play CAF Confederation Cup Matches at Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja

Abuja, Nigeria – El-Kanemi Warriors, the 2024 President Federation Cup champions, have announced that they will play their home games in the CAF Confederation Cup at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja. This decision comes after their home ground, the El-Kanemi Stadium in Maiduguri, failed to meet the required standards set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

This will be the first time the club has played on the continent in over two decades, marking a significant milestone in their history. El-Kanemi Warriors will face Beninoise club, Dadje FC, in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup. The first leg of the match will take place between August 16-18, while the second leg will be held between August 23-25.

If El-Kanemi Warriors manage to overcome Dadje FC, they will move on to face former champions, RS Berkane of Morocco, in the second preliminary round. The stakes are high, but the Maiduguri club is determined to make a strong impression in their return to continental competition.

The Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja has hosted several high-profile matches in the past, including international friendlies and domestic league games. With its state-of-the-art facilities and favorable conditions, it is the perfect venue for El-Kanemi Warriors to make their mark in the CAF Confederation Cup.
