A viral photo shows teenager Yusuf Alami standing in front of Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi’s moving convoy during a campaign rally in Lagos. In the picture, Alami raises his hands in support of Obi, and the image quickly spread across social media on Saturday.

A Facebook user, Ifeanyi Onukwubiri, posted a request for Alami’s whereabouts, offering to give the boy N100,000. He wrote, “This is the photo of the week. How can I get to this boy? I want to gift him 100k. It’s youth o’clock! I see hope for common persons coming back again!” Popular socialite Pascal Okechukwu, known as the Cubana Chief Priest, reshared Onukwubiri’s post on his Instagram story, vowing to help the teenager. He added, “Me too I go like send am better thing. His life gotta change.”

When interviewed, Alami explained that he stepped in front of the convoy because of his admiration for Obi. He said he is originally from Ibadan but now lives in Lagos, and that Obi “helps people” and “I like him a lot.” Alami added that, should Obi win the election, he would pray for the candidate’s success.

Obi concluded his presidential campaign in Lagos with a rally at Tafawa Balewa Square on Lagos Island. The event was attended by his running mate Datti Baba‑Amed, Afenifere leader Pa Ayo Adebanjo, and other supporters. However, the rally was marred by violence when hoodlums attacked Obi’s supporters, leaving four people injured, according to police reports.
