NNPP Begins Membership Drive Ahead 2027 Elections

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has initiated a nationwide mobilization drive ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a statement issued by its Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, the party directed its state executive officers to identify and recruit politicians with a proven track record of integrity and capacity.

The party has also embarked on a membership drive and registration exercise, aiming to update its existing membership register. This move is seen as a strategic effort to strengthen the party’s structure and prepare for the upcoming elections.

According to Dr. Aniebonam, the party’s state and local government executives must ensure that new members have verifiable records and a reputation for integrity and honor. This emphasis on integrity is a response to the party’s past experiences, including a leadership tussle with the Kwankwasiya Movement led by Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The party’s leadership acknowledges that the previous disputes and litigation affected its ability to participate in recent elections. However, with these issues largely resolved, the NNPP is now focused on advancing its primary objective of promoting good governance in Nigeria.

Dr. Aniebonam emphasized that existing members who do not align with the party’s ideals are free to join other parties. He also expressed a willingness to forgive former members who had been expelled, citing the importance of moving forward and focusing on the party’s goals.

The NNPP’s founder stated that he has put past betrayals behind him and bears no grudge against former associates, including Senator Kwankwaso and Elder Buba Galadima. As the party looks to the future, it is prioritizing unity and a commitment to its core values.

The NNPP’s mobilization drive and membership registration exercise are significant steps towards the 2027 general elections. With a renewed focus on integrity and good governance, the party is positioning itself as a viable option for Nigerian voters. As the electoral landscape continues to evolve, the NNPP’s efforts to strengthen its structure and attract like-minded politicians will be closely watched.
