Ogun State Appoints 9 New Permanent Secretaries

Abiodun constitutes Pension Funds Management Committees, lauds Labour for suspending strike

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved the appointment of nine new Permanent Secretaries to enhance the state’s public service. The appointments, announced by State Head of Service Kehinde Onasanya, aim to strengthen operational capabilities, administrative stability, and policy implementation across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The new Permanent Secretaries were selected based on merit, professionalism, inclusiveness, and experience in the civil service, in line with the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. They were chosen from a pool of successful directors who participated in the Ogun State executive leadership development pipeline programme.

The appointees include Abdul-Azeez Ajidele, Olufunmilayo Soyoye-Baker, Adebimpe Obienu, Kafayat Lawal, Ahmed Adetona, Idowu Onasanya, Olalekan Taiwo, Akintomiwa Osibodu, and Kehinde Akintomide. They will assume various roles, including directors of planning, agriculture, public prosecution, and audit, among others.

In addition to the Permanent Secretary appointments, Governor Abiodun also approved the appointment of two Principals-General and four Headteachers-General to fill vacant positions in the Teaching Service Commission and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). The new appointees are Matthew Adeyinka Osilesi, Yakubu Olorunyomi Lamidi, Benjamin Alonge, Aminat Busari, Olusegun Akapo, and Folake Onabanjo. They were selected after a rigorous process and are expected to demonstrate dedication and selflessness in their new roles.

The appointments are part of the governor’s efforts to strengthen the state’s public service and education sector. The new appointees are expected to play key roles in implementing government policies and improving administrative processes. With these appointments, the Ogun State government aims to enhance service delivery and ensure the effective implementation of its policies across various sectors.
