Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has urged residents to exercise their votes responsibly in the upcoming Area Council elections, emphasizing the importance of citizen participation in strengthening democracy. In his 2026 New Year message, Wike commended residents for their resilience and cooperation with the FCT Administration over the past year and extended warm New Year greetings.
The Minister described the forthcoming elections as a key responsibility of citizens, stating that participating in free, fair, and peaceful elections is essential for accountable governance at the local level.
