Umar Nadada has assumed the role of Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 14 Headquarters in Katsina, Katsina State, becoming the eighth person to hold this position. According to a statement released by the Zone 14 Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Umar Muhammad, Nadada took over the leadership of the zone, bringing his extensive experience in crime prevention and public trust promotion to the Nigeria Police Force.
Nadada’s background in law enforcement is robust, with a history of serving in various operational, investigative, and administrative capacities across Nigeria. His contributions to internal security and police reforms are notable, given his years of service. The new AIG hails from Kano State’s Rano Local Government Area and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Biology from Bayero University, Kano, and a Master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, Nadada underwent professional training at the Nigeria Police Academy, Annex, in Kaduna.
