ADC Leader Criticizes Tinubu’s Alleged One-Party Scheme

Lagos — A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has sharply criticised President Bola Tinubu and his administration, describing their governance as having led the country down an “inglorious path” despite the collective sacrifices made to bring the All Progressives Congress (APC) to power.

In a statement issued to the media, Eze commended the ADC leadership and other Nigerians who have voiced opposition to what he termed “coordinated, undue interference” by the Tinubu government in the affairs of opposition political parties. He alleged this interference is part of a broader effort to weaken opposition strength and establish a one-party system in Nigeria.

Eze specifically praised the Lagos Chapter of the ADC for its ongoing protests against what he called an “evil system.” He urged the party’s leadership to sustain the demonstrations for an extended period, insisting that persistent action is necessary to ensure the message for free and credible elections resonates with those in charge of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“After all, it was Tinubu who taught Nigerians this strategy, and it helped push the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) out of power,” Eze said. “We will use it to rescue Nigeria from his devious hands.”

He called on Nigerians to unite with the ADC in its mission to end what he described as the unprecedented hardship inflicted by the APC government. Eze accused President Tinubu of being more concerned with perpetuating himself in power—likening him to Cameroon’s Paul Biya—regardless of his administration’s perceived lack of positive impact.

“It is sad and unfortunate that Tinubu and his government could take us to this inglorious path after what we all sacrificed to bring APC to power,” Eze stated.

He urged citizens to remain steadfast in their determination to end the suffering attributed to the Tinubu administration, warning that failure to act could entrench further economic and political decline.
