Manchester City winger Jérémy Doku has signed a new five-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031, the club announced on Thursday. The 24-year-old Belgium international has developed into a pivotal figure since arriving from French side Rennes in 2023.
Doku has made 131 appearances for City, scoring 22 goals while demonstrating tactical versatility across both flanks and occasionally in central positions. His new deal reflects the club’s confidence in a player who has already collected five major honours, including the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Community Shield.
“I have loved my time at City so far, so to have the opportunity to stay for longer is a fantastic feeling,” Doku said. The winger also expressed enthusiasm about the team’s evolving direction. “The style of football is the kind we love, so that’s exciting for the players.”
City’s director of football, Hugo Viana, highlighted Doku’s trajectory since his move from Ligue 1. “Jérémy is a huge talent whose improvement since joining us in 2023 is clear for all to see,” Viana said. He pointed to the player’s pace, technical ability and versatility, adding that his attitude and desire to improve have been equally impressive.
On the international stage, Doku has earned 48 caps for Belgium and featured prominently in recent major tournaments. His club form has consistently translated to the national team setup, where he remains a first-choice option.
The contract extension provides stability as City navigate a new chapter. With his dribbling, acceleration and growing consistency in front of goal, Doku is positioned to remain a central attacking outlet for seasons to come. The Belgian will now focus on adding to his trophy cabinet while continuing his development at one of Europe’s most demanding clubs.
