The Ghana National Fire Service has dismissed social media claims that it failed to pay personnel their 2025 rent allowance, calling the reports false and unfounded.
In a statement released on Friday, August 21, 2026, the service confirmed that the final tranche of the full 2025 rent allowance was disbursed in April 2026. “Management wishes to state categorically that the information is false and unfounded, as the last tranche of the full payment of the 2025 rent allowance was effected in April 2026,” the statement read.
Addressing the 2026 rent allowance, the GNFS said a committee has been constituted to facilitate the mechanisation process and ensure payments are made promptly. The service thanked personnel for their patience and reiterated management’s commitment to addressing welfare concerns, including compensation.
The GNFS also reaffirmed its dedication to transparency and an open-door policy in communicating with staff and the public, while urging all parties to disregard the misleading reports and refrain from circulating misinformation.
