SDP Demands Annulment of Governorship Election in Kogi Central

The Social Democratic Party, SDP, has unequivocally urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to invalidate the results of the governorship election in Kogi Central. During the submission of the SDP’s petition letter to the state returning officer, the party’s representative, David Edibo, expressed outright rejection of the election outcome in the five local government areas within the senatorial district. This call was met with objection from the APC agent, Idris King.

Meanwhile, the PDP candidate, Dino Melaye, sounded the alarm last Saturday regarding “pre-filled result sheets” in the Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of the North Central state. Melaye also demanded the suspension of the exercise due to reported cases of violence and vote buying. Consequently, INEC halted the election in nine wards within the local government area.
