The recent turmoil surrounding the election of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Enugu State has finally come to a peaceful resolution. After a chaotic election at the Enugu State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), where parallel executives emerged, the situation was brought under control by a team of security agencies.

Fortunately, the warring factions were able to reconcile at the IPAC secretariat in Enugu, leading to the smooth handover of office to the new chairman, Mr. Obioma Nnamani. Nnamani, who also serves as the Chairman of the BOOT Party in the state, expressed his commitment to transparency and accountability in IPAC’s operations. He emphasized the importance of fostering strong relationships with INEC, ENSIEC, and the state government for the benefit of the people of Enugu State.

In a show of unity, the former chairman, Edwin Alor, peacefully handed over the reins to Nnamani. Alor thanked his executive team and the council for their support and urged them to forgive any mistakes as they strive to build a stronger and more effective IPAC in Enugu State.

During the handover ceremony, Frank Anioma, the Special Adviser to Governor Peter Mbah on Political Matters, encouraged IPAC to continue serving as a watchdog to ensure accountability in governance. He stressed the importance of collaboration with the state government and maintaining a focus on good governance.

As IPAC moves forward under new leadership, the council members are called upon to work together as a united front to elevate the organization to new heights. By leveraging their collective strengths and maintaining a commitment to accountability, IPAC can effectively fulfill its role in Enugu State politics.
