The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has launched a nationwide mobilization drive in preparation for the 2027 general elections. In a statement issued by its Founder, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, the party instructed state executive officers to identify and recruit politicians who demonstrate a proven track record of integrity and capability. Simultaneously, the NNPP has begun a membership drive and registration exercise to update its existing membership register, a strategic effort to strengthen the party’s structure ahead of the elections.

Dr. Aniebonam emphasized that state and local government executives must ensure new members possess verifiable records and a reputation for integrity and honor. This focus on integrity stems from the party’s past experiences, including a leadership dispute with the Kwankwasiya Movement led by Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso. The NNPP’s leadership acknowledges that previous conflicts and litigation hampered its participation in recent elections. With those issues largely resolved, the party is now concentrating on its primary objective: promoting good governance in Nigeria.

The founder also noted that existing members who do not align with the party’s ideals are free to join other parties. He expressed a willingness to forgive former members who had been expelled, stressing the importance of moving forward and focusing on the party’s goals. Dr. Aniebonam stated that he has put past betrayals behind him and bears no grudge against former associates, including Senator Kwankwaso and Elder Buba Galadima.

Looking ahead, the NNPP is prioritizing unity and a commitment to its core values. Its mobilization drive and membership registration exercise are significant steps toward the 2027 general elections. With a renewed emphasis on integrity and good governance, the party aims to position itself as a viable option for Nigerian voters. As the electoral landscape evolves, the NNPP’s efforts to strengthen its structure and attract like‑minded politicians will be closely watched.
