Nigerian businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, has been relocated from a criminal cell at Kuje Prison due to health concerns, according to an update shared by social media activist VeryDarkMan on Instagram.
Blord was remanded in Kuje Prison for 26 days by the Federal High Court in Abuja on multiple charges, including impersonation of VeryDarkMan and forgery. VeryDarkMan stated that Blord has been unwell since April 6, 2025, and was moved from “Egypt 2″—a high-risk section of Kuje Prison housing armed robbers and other hardened criminals—to a segregation unit.
“VeryDarkMan and his lawyer have been accused of orchestrating Blord’s legal troubles,” the activist wrote on his Instagram story. “Sowore and his allies don’t have the power to bring Blord out and discontinue the case like he claimed. We are willing to temper mercy.”
The remarks appear to reference human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, who had earlier condemned the speed and manner of Blord’s remand. Sowore accused VeryDarkMan and his legal team of engaging in oppression.
Blord, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s cryptocurrency and tech space, has maintained a significant online following. His arrest and continued detention have sparked debate over the treatment of young entrepreneurs in Nigeria’s justice system.
Legal experts note that the case highlights ongoing tensions between social media influencers, activists, and the authorities, with each side leveraging public platforms to shape narratives. The relocation of Blord on medical grounds may prompt further scrutiny of prison conditions and the handling of remand prisoners in Nigeria.
As the legal proceedings continue, attention remains on how the courts will address the charges and whether any settlement or plea agreement might be reached.
