The All Progressives Congress in Kebbi State is already sharpening its knives for the 2027 electoral battle, and its leaders are making no secret of their ambition to sweep the board. With a swagger born of internal cohesion and a raft of governance achievements, the party’s top brass declared on Monday that victory is not just a hope, but a foregone conclusion.
Speaking at a press conference held at the party’s headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, Kabiru Sani, the Special Adviser to Governor Nasir Idris on Political Matters, laid out the party’s game plan. Sani, who served as the voice of the party’s confidence, revealed that the APC has already conducted a thorough self-assessment and has been quietly reinforcing its political machinery. The message was clear: the opposition should start preparing for a long night in 2027.
“Our unity is our weapon,” Sani asserted, brushing aside any suggestion that the party might face a stiff challenge. He insisted that the APC’s internal harmony, coupled with a string of tangible achievements under the Idris administration, has created a formidable electoral juggernaut. From agriculture to education, healthcare to security, Sani ticked off a list of what he called “undeniable successes” that he believes will resonate with voters at the ballot box.
But the party’s optimism is not just rooted in its own performance. Sani pointed to a steady stream of defections from opposition ranks, noting that an increasing number of political heavyweights and grassroots supporters are flocking to the APC banner. This influx, he argued, is a clear sign that the political tide is turning in their favor. “The more they join us, the weaker they become,” he said, referring to rival parties.
Sani also underscored the importance of sustained collaboration between the party leadership, elected officials, and the rank-and-file membership. He called this three-way partnership the cornerstone of the APC’s strategy to consolidate its position and ensure a resounding victory in 2027. For now, the party is not just preparing for an election; it is preparing for a coronation.
